PLASTIC SURGERY & ADVANCED SCALP TUMORS: EPIDEMIOLOGICAL PROFILE AND SURGICAL MANAGEMENT ABOUT 65 CASES

The scalp is the most frequent site of occurrence malignant tumors. As an area that generally neglected by patient and not closely monitored during physical examinations. Plastic surgery has a double interest in management tumors scalp: it allows oncologic tumor excision coverage defects induced. present study reports 65 cases giant who underwent surgical management, from January 2011 to June 2019. It included resection repair defect. average age our series was 69.3 years, with sex ratio 5.1. Disease duration before consultation on 21 months. location mostly parietal 75%. histological types were found series: 36 squamous cell carcinoma, 16 basal 6 melanoma, 3 trichilemmal 2 dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans one case sarcoma adenoid cystic carcinoma . To cover defect we used: skin graft 44 local flaps cases. 42 patients benefited radiotherapy evolution marked reactivation carcinoma. consists two components: coverage. This achieved through multiple techniques, facilitated vascular richness this anatomical region.
